Great Coffee in the Great Outdoors

When Tim Hortons came to us with their idea for seasonal merchandise, I was extremely excited to hear about their idea for summer: camping! As a lover of camping myself, I was delighted to develop graphics, patterns, and a line of products to be sold in retail. Tim Hortons has yet to sell merchandise outside of their traditional Canadian scheme, so this was brand new for them. The challenge was to evoke a design that was consistent across all items, hitting Tim Hortons branding, and calling upon “camp” without straying too far away from what Tim Hortons actually is known for: coffee and timbits.

The main pattern featured across the collection is meant to evoke the comforting, organic feeling of a good day spent camping.

The items themself are practical camping essentials that can double for both everyday use or gifting.

Research

The inspiration Tim Hortons had sent featured wobbly flat illustrations of camping in the woods, I took that inspiration and added some specific Tim Horton’s references (timbits on a stick, anyone) sprinkled throughout. I also studied their brand guidelines intensively, making sure typography, copy, and colors would remain consistent.
