Ciao Down
To spotlight the launch of their new caprese wrap, the client sought to capture the essence of ‘Everyday Italian Delight’ by designing an item inspired by Italian fashion and culture. After some internal brainstorming, our creative team landed on a “wrap,” or, a silk scarf. The pattern was meant to highlight a the ingredients of the scarf- cut tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. A scarf boasts multifunctionality. It’s used as a head piece, a neck piece, belt, and even can be wrapped to be used as a bag. I collaborated closely with a graphic designer to conceptualize and execute the desired style to present to the client.

I drew inspiration from vintage Dolce & Gabbana pieces, particularly admiring their use of illustrative, loose elements. Collaborating closely, we infused these aesthetics into our design process, aiming to capture the same essence of whimsy and sophistication in our project. We wanted something that when in use looked very chic, but as you look closer you notice its the element of a sandwich.
Along with the scarf, we designed a mailer and insert card that had illustrations detailed three different ways to “wrap your wrap.” The design matched directly back to the scarf. For the mailer, I wanted a stark contrast to the design of the scarf by having a very minimal, sleek two-piece gift box with just the monogram on top.
A monogram was designed inspired by luxury fashion brands instead of their typical logo. It’s charming, and more in line with the design of the scarf, while the actual logo is being used as a repeat border.
